Fragmented surface asset management
SurfaceLab organizes model, material, and render decisions in a single workflow instead of scattered files and disconnected tools.
3D Product Visualization • Render • Materials • Workflow Prototype
Status: Functional prototype / active development / app-store submission pending.
SurfaceLab is currently focused on importing 3D models, testing materials and lighting, creating high-resolution product renders, previewing animation states, and validating fabrication-oriented outputs.
SurfaceLab is positioned as a working product system rather than a concept-only presentation. The interface focuses on operational clarity, repeatable workflow testing, and measurable render outputs.
Prototype proof
This section is intentionally separated with a different background so the video reads as a real product proof block, not just a decorative media element.
Operational relevance
The site should communicate the exact pain points the system solves, so the product reads as a useful operational tool.
SurfaceLab organizes model, material, and render decisions in a single workflow instead of scattered files and disconnected tools.
The prototype is framed around repeatable selection, preview, and export logic so visual decisions are easier to standardize.
SurfaceLab supports iterative visual states, making it easier to compare outputs across versions and material changes.
The workflow is suitable for systems that need the same product presentation language across different locations and teams.
Users can test appearance and output logic before finalizing a surface or model direction.
The interface is presented as a coordination layer for render, preview, and production-adjacent decisions.
Core functions
This version is written more like a product system and less like a concept pitch, which helps the page feel operational.
Designed to support common 3D model formats used in visualization, product design, digital assets, and fabrication workflows.
Preview models inside a render frame, adjust camera composition, and export polished product visuals for presentation and testing.
Use prepared lighting and visual looks to test ecommerce, catalog, hero, dark, glass, jewelry, packaging, and technical render directions.
Apply and compare material directions such as plastic, metal, glass, ceramic, leather, fabric, stone, liquid, and emissive-style surfaces.
Visualize layer-like 3D print effects, filament-style surfaces, render frame output, and animation-friendly print previews.
Built around render export, visual testing, logs, presets, and lab-style checks for product visualization workflows.
Real interface and render screens
These screenshots show the current interface areas and render outputs used during development and presentation testing.
Dark UI mode with render controls, resolution settings, timeline tools, and viewport preview.
Filament-style 3D print render mode with layer-density controls and object animation preview.
Chrome-style render output used to test reflections, highlights, contrast, and decorative model readability.
Jewelry-style model shown inside the SurfaceLab render frame with export and composition controls.
System overview
This section can later be turned into a downloadable PDF or a formal project brief for portfolio and NIW evidence use.
SurfaceLab connects product visualization, material testing, render export, animation preview, and fabrication-oriented previews. The goal is to make imported 3D assets easier to inspect, present, and translate into visual output.
Format support
SurfaceLab is being developed around a broad model-import workflow for product visualization and 3D asset testing.
C4D and BLEND workflows are experimental recovery or companion-file workflows. Complex procedural, generator-heavy, or plugin-based DCC scenes may still require exported GLB, OBJ, or STL companion files.
Development status
The page now uses clearer product language: prototype, workflow, interface logic, and operational structure.
Load 3D model files, inspect them in the viewport, and prepare the scene for material and render tests.
Apply materials, lighting, presets, render resolution settings, and output-focused composition decisions.
Export visuals, compare render outputs, improve quality, and continue refining the interface and feature set.
Live browser demo
Upload an STL model, preview it inside the real SurfaceLab web interface, and test the evolving render workflow. This public browser demo is a lightweight but working preview of the active desktop workflow currently in development.
Demo note: use STL files for the public browser demo. Your selected model is handled in the browser demo environment. For heavier files and full workflows, use the desktop build.

SurfaceLab is a 3D rendering, product visualization, and model inspection application currently in development.
SurfaceLab does not require users to create an account for core local rendering and model-preview workflows. Imported files, render settings, material settings, screenshots, exports, logs, and project-related outputs may be stored locally on the user’s device depending on how the user chooses to use the app.
3D model files, texture files, material maps, render exports, diagnostic outputs, and generated reports are intended to remain local unless the user chooses to export, upload, send, or share them through another service.
The live browser demo is a lightweight preview of SurfaceLab. It may allow users to select an STL file from their device and preview it in the browser. The public demo is limited compared with the desktop app. Users should avoid selecting sensitive, confidential, or proprietary files unless they understand how their browser and device handle local file access.
SurfaceLab may generate local diagnostic logs, render timing information, quality reports, or technical summaries to help the user understand render behavior and troubleshoot issues. These files are intended for local use unless the user chooses to share them.
If future versions include third-party integrations, cloud services, licensing services, analytics, or update systems, this policy will be updated to explain what data is processed and why.
If SurfaceLab is distributed through an app store or payment platform, payment processing will be handled by the relevant platform. SurfaceLab does not receive or store full payment card details.
SurfaceLab does not sell user data. User files are not uploaded to our own servers as part of the core local rendering workflow unless the user chooses to use a future online service that explicitly requires upload or sharing.
SurfaceLab is not designed specifically for children. It is intended for general 3D visualization, product design, model inspection, rendering, and fabrication-oriented workflows.
